Hike this easy 3.8-mile loop around String Lake and see mountains reflected in the lake’s waters. Its shallow, warmer waters make it a good spot to take a dip or rent a kayak. Walk clockwise to mellow the elevation grade. Access it by heading northwest at the North Jenny Lake Junction and right at String Lake.

Get a Huckleberry Milkshake

Go on a scenic cruise for a breakfast, lunch or dinner cruise on Jackson Lake where you’ll fuel up on great views and food on Elk Island. Being on Jackson Lake gives you a whole different perspective.I

NOTE: In 2021,  the Bureau of Reclamation has been taking water from Jackson Lake to supply water to irrigation reservoirs in Idaho. Because this has caused water level to drop in Jackson Lake, Colter Bay Village Marina operations closed down earlier than anticipated. Jackson Lake Meal Cruises were expected to close Wednesday, July 21 and Jackson Lake Scenic Cruises were expected to close on Friday, July 23.

Visit Mormon Row

Founded in the 1890s by Mormon settlers from Idaho, this community was once home to 27 homesteads. Today you can see T.A. Moulton’s famous barn that appears in many photos of the Tetons. Drive north from Jackson on highway 191 past Moose Junction and turn right onto Antelope Flats Road and drive for about 1.5 miles. A trail brochure and interpretive sign can be found at the parking lot.
