July 28, 2021, California Interagency Incident Management Team 11 has transitioned the fire back to the Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service under Unified Command with a local Type 3 Management Team. Unless significant activity occurs, this will be the final update for the Peak Fire.Peak Fire has burned approximately 2,098 acres of grass and brush south of Lake Isabella between Walker Basin and the Kern River Valley, near the community of Havilah. This wildland fire is 95% contained. Very little fire behavior was observed yesterday. Small areas of interior islands continue to smolder.
