Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes discovered the Boulder 2700 Fire the morning of July 31, 2021, in the Mission Mountains east of Flathead Lake, and eight miles east of Polson, MT. As of August 1, 2021, the size was approximately 1,150 acres, burning in steep terrain with heavy, downed fuels. Multiple structures have been lost. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
