The Muckamuck Fire started on August 4, 2012. It is located northwest of Conconully, Washington in the area of Pelican Pass and Muckamuck Mountain. It is on lands managed by the Colville National Forest. Cub Creek 2 resources aided in initial attack and continued to provide support. Acreage on August 7 was reported at 525 acres. The fire is is an area that has not burned in recent years. Decadent mixed conifer with dead and down materials are the primary fuel source along with open Ponderosa pine, sagebrush and cured grass meadows.
