Current Situation: The South Fire started at approximately 1:45PM on August 25, 2021. The fire is currently 250 acres in size, with zero percent containment. Resources have been ordered and are arriving on scene to start fire suppression efforts. Evacuations: Order: All residents from Lytle Creek Rd South of the Ranger Station, West of Sierra Ave., North of the I-15 and East of Duncan Canyon Rd. Warning: All residents North of Glen Helen Parkway, East of Sierra/Lytle Creek Rd., and West of I-15 Shelter in place: Residents North of Lytle Creek Ranger Station Evacuation Shelter: Jessie Turner Center: 15556 Summit Ave., Fontana CA 92336 Roads Closures: Sierra Ave North of the I-15 Lytle Creek Rd to Duncan Canyon Drones: Drones pose a serious risk to firefighting and can cause air operations to cease.
