The Windy Fire started on Thursday September 9th on the Tule River Indian Reservation. This is the largest of nine lightning fires that started across the area. It is now 450 acres and has crossed into the Sequoia National Forest. Fire personnel from the Tule River Indian Reservation and the Sequoia National Forest are working together to fully suppress the Windy Fire. There are 7 handcrews, several engines and aircraft currently supporting this effort.
