Firefighters are actively engaged in suppression efforts for the 681490 Fire located in Hidalgo County, north of McCook near the intersection of FM 490 and FM 681. The fire is exhibiting active and wind-driven fire behavior. Twenty fire departments are currently on scene with heavy equipment and overhead personnel from Texas A&M Forest Service and private heavy equipment. Heavy equipment is being utilized is working on constructing containment line in grass fuels.
