West Wind (Wildfire)

The West Wind Fire was first reported on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 as a start in Judith Basin County that quickly spread into Fergus County. High winds pushed the fire into the town of Denton, MT where multiple structures were threatened. 25 structures have been impacted, including grain elevators, bridges, and primary residences. The cause of the fire is under investigation. A number of mutual aid resources have responded to the fire, including Fergus County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and local firefighting
