CRD Fire Staff are planning to initiate a 2500 acre chaparral burn in the Hualapai Mountains (Blue Tank and Bull Canyon Drainages) starting tomorrow. Weather permitting, firing operations will be completed in one to two days. Smoke will be visible at times from Kingman, I-40 from Topock to Fort Rock area, Hwy 93 from Kingman area south to Wikieup, and possibly Lake Havasu Area.Reason for the Prescribed Burn: We plan to create a mosaic of burned and unburned within the treatment area. The treatment is being conducted to reduce stands of dense, old age class chaparral (brush).
