Cooks Peak (Wildfire)

The Cooks Peak Fire is located on private land north of Ocate in Mora County. The Northern New Mexico Type 3 Incident Management Team will be managing the fire, which was first reported at 4:15 p.m on April 17, 2022. An evacuation order for Canada Bonita, Blatman Ranch, and one other residence remains in place as of April 18, 2022. Evacuees may utilize Memorial Middle School in Las Vegas, 1236 5th St. The Zamora Arena is available for evacuated livestock.
