CAUTION – Rain, snow, and ice increase the risk of rockfall on backcountry trails.

All trails into Grand Canyon are snow-packed and icy. Foot traction and trekking poles are recommended for those planning to hike into the canyon.

Upcoming backcountry toilet maintenance at Salt, Horn, and Hermit. Expect helicopter traffic and restrictions on toilet use. Salt and Horn toilet maintenance is scheduled for Jan-13-2023. Hermit toilet maintenance is scheduled for Jan-14-2023 to Jan-16-2023, toilets will be closed from 8am to 5pm.
