Incident Overview: The Swawilla Fire was initiated by lightning on July 17th, 2024. It is located 9 miles south of Keller and roughly estimated at 47,190 acres. The weather has become more seasonable and a dry cold front has moved into the area. The winds will be out of the southwest, but will remain variable, and predominantly push the fire toward the town of Keller. Firefighters are focusing on structure protection and the town of Keller, and will conduct controlled burns to increase containment when it is safe to do so. Fire crews are working both day and night and a dedicated structure protection group is in place. Level 3 Evacuations are in place in several areas
