Incident Overview: A lightning storm ignited the Boulder Fire late in the evening on July 24, 2024 and is located about 1 mile to the southeast of Tripod lookout. Many lighting fires were started the same evening across the Boise and Payette National Forest and resources were ordered and began trying to get access to the fire right away. A red flag warning was in effect that night and thunderstorms lasted into the early hours of the next day. Several crews and helicopters began working on the fire as soon as they could on the morning of July 25 and more are still en route to the fire. Currently there are about 100 firefighters on the ground working on line construction and putting in hose lay along the southeastern edge of the fire near Boulder Creek. A dozer is working to put in contingency line to the North of the fire.Great Basin IMT 7 will be taking control of the fire at 0600 on Wednesday July 31, 2024
