Incident Overview: The Winding Waters Complex, which consists of five fires, the Charlie Brown Fire, Courtney Creek Fire, Mountain View Fire, Water Fire, and Big Canyon Fire, is approximately 717.85 Acres combined; these fires started on July 24, 2024, and the cause of the fires was lightning. The Big Canyon Fire has been resistant to control and has growth potential.Oregon Department of Forestry resources, local Rural Fire Departments, Industrial operators, private contractors, and landowner representatives have played a huge role in suppressing these fires during such a difficult time procuring resources. Henderson Logging, BTO Logging, Hafer Brothers, and Tanzey Forest Improvement have been involved in the Complete and Coordinated response and suppression efforts.
