Incident Overview: This fire is in initial attack. Firefighters are on the scene of a wildfire burning 6 miles northeast of Nucla and moving northeast. Smoke is visible from Norwood and surrounding communities. It is exhibiting active to extreme fire behavior in Pinion/Juniper fuels. Nucla Fire, Naturita Fire, Norwood Fire, BLM, Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, San Miguel Sherriff’s deputies and Colorado State Patrol are on scene with heavy aircraft assisting.
