Incident Overview: The Element Fire is about 12 miles north of Kingman, west of Stockton Hill Road. Firefighters are on scene of what started earlier the evening of Aug. 6 as reports of the Left Fork and Element fires, which have merged due to erratic, gusty, outflow winds from passing thunderstorms. Firefighters have moved strategically into structure protection in the Emmitt Ranch area and fire complexity has increased. The fire remains active on the northwest corner but is relatively quiet elsewhere. No new threats to structures and crews are hoping to prevent spread into Mount Tipton Wilderness.The fire will be managed with a Type 3 organization on August 7 and assessed for further needs.Vock Canyon and homes west of Stockton Hill Road between milepost 18-23 currently in ”SET” status.
