Incident Overview: The Bear Fire was reported at 2 p.m. on September 2, 2024 off Bear Valley Rd. on the Tahoe National Forest, south of the community of Sierra Brooks in Sierra County. Tahoe National Forest, Cal Fire and Sierra County Sheriff’s Office are in unified command. The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation.
