Incident Overview: The Happy Fire, which is a lightning fire discovered on 7/16/2024, burning within the Monarch Wilderness and within the 2015 Rough Fire footprint. The fire is currently burning at nearly 10,000 feet elevation and has burned to date, approximately 380 acres. Over the next few days, fire behavior is expected to decrease as temperatures decrease over the fire area. Currently, smoke is visible above the Hume Lake Ranger District.
