Old photo discovery

When cleaning out boxes from the building behind the cottage, discovered this old photo in a box on a shelf. And since its discovery, I have been trying to learn who the three men are in the photo.

Over in the distance is Burnside Cottage is looking spick and span, a big washing of what looks like bed sheets on the line. It would probably be the Macleod’s who lived there then, they later (1930s) moved to a new house at Lusta, now called Eillean Isay Cottage and is still in the family. Previous tenants of Burnside Cottage, Camus Lusta were the Mackinnon family whose son William is mentioned in The Names on the Memorial. Which means the photo is not associated with this croft, but how it ended up in on this property is a mystery, Location is Camus Lusta.

I discovered that the man on the right is John Beaton (1873-1960) from Geary who was the son of Thomas Beaton and Barbara Beaton. Still on the hunt for the other individuals.
