REI Co-op Groundbreaker 2 Tent
We bought this tent for our daughter who is a student at Texas A&M, and who has a penchant to get outdoors just like her dad. It’s been a great tent for her car camping trips, but with how light and easy it is to setup it can totally be used for backpacking too. This tent is the sweet spot in pricing, weight and size. It is quite roomy for two people – I think with minimalist pads, skinny people and being a bit close it might barely fit three. It will definitely fit two full pads completely and the packs go at your feet. The fly works – it covers the roof and extends over the windows. Tighten the straps down on tent after getting it up so that the fly is tighter and not too loose and floppy.
